Baatorian Green Steel

(As a sidenote, the plural for bonus is bonuses... sorry, it's just a nitpick of mine.)

Sorry, it is not ;) as a learned Latin speaker may know. The plural of malus is mali, if so. likes to know (Sorry, it's just a nitpicker's nitpick of mine.)

Kind regards

Well, I’ve been an English Professor for a while now, and I have never heard anyone say “boni”. It is the correct Latin conjugation, but that’s not terribly relevant these days. I did a quick look in my OED and found nothing on the subject.

After a quick google, I found this…

Boni: (BO-nigh) n. pl. Non-dictionary plural of "bonus," used exclusively in quiz bowl circles.

( From andrew.cmu.edu/org/college-bowl/lexicon.html )

So, as usual, it seems both sides are correct in a way.

Baatorian green steel was originally 3e-ized in Lord of the Iron Fortress, and, as mentioned, gave a +1 enhancement bonus to damage. It had hardness 12, 30 hp per inch of thickness, and cost +2000 gp (which seemed high for what it did).

Re: boni -- look out, Hong's going to send his ninjae to kill us all!

As I took Latin oh-so-long ago, I agree that the plural of the Latin "bonus" is "boni". The plural of the English "bonus", however, is "bonuses".

Someone that learned in Latin should also have learned by now that it is different from other languages-- particularly English, in which the plural of bonus is bonuses, similar to the way other Latin-borrowed words are pluralized.

The plural of malus is maluses, and plural of forum is forums.

Now, if you want to debate the proper pluralization of certain Japanese nouns, you might have some ground to stand on. For instance, ninjas seems acceptable, but samurais is rank heresy.
