Babies

In the attempt to keep the IC discussion thread as IC and this for the OOC stuff I am posting this here:

Milk can be kept at room temp for quit some time, and we do have the ring gates to get the bottles of milk and send them back.

The ring gates can also be used to hand the baby (Again Preston and Dorn would be the only ones in on this) for feeding times. No it is not a fail safe plan, but then again whoever we bring with us can die and we are just as out of milk.

If something goes wrong Xath or Justice can give up thier boots and AA can take the kid back to Hywrl for that emergency feeding time.

As for getting the milk:
This may be gross, but could Alter self or Polymorph work? I don't think Alter Self since it seems to be more the illusion and no actual change, yet polymorph is physically changing someone. It changes that persons very being, but not the mind.

I am more then happy to listen to other ways of doing this, but honestly bringing another person into battle with us is not the smart choice (I realize it may end up being the only way, but I just want to exhaust other option first).

And bringing someone who has a small infant they is definitely out unless it is the absolute only option left.

I've got a pretty good idea for a qualified Nursemaid... Justice knows, from her experience at Jade Forest, that every so often, one of the students finds herself in the Queen's Predicament.
Justice would happily travel back to the acad. if requested to see if any of the students happens to be in that situation... it could also serve as a diplomatic mission to attempt to win the support (if only verbal) of our cause.
Secondly, if we find a non-skilled common woman to serve as the Nursemaid Justice can also call in a favor from Tara. She is a skilled Ninja that would be more than capable of protecting not only the child, but the woman generous enough to care for the child.
Non-skilled gets to take her chances with the six of us protecting her and the baby. I don't think we need to add another person in.

Going to the Jade forest Ac. not a bad idea, but we do have thousands of troops of which quite a few are women. It should still be our first shot to see if any of them is currently having some issue that could help us out.

Going to the Jade Academy is fine for just getting the word out there, but one would hope that was part of Xath's diplomatic missions at the begining of the montauge fun. PErhaps that one was Xath/Justice combo emissary mission.

There is no way we could have a non-skilled woman there. Which is why Tara would be there - to protect the nursemaid and the child. She's a very qualified warrior. It really messes stuff up a bit, but in the end, so does having the child on the battlefield at all.

The breast milk option is something that - once again - will need to be cleared with Jaine... and, if I were a nursing mother (I really can't even believe I'm typing this *shudder*), I can't say that I would be keen on a polymorphed person sucking and spitting out the milk.

You want a woman who can travel with you, but you don't necessarily want a woman who's standing on the field of battle. There's a point where close can become too close.

Polymorph and shape change are interesting ideas, but while there is a monster that is roughly the shape of an ulcerous stomach, the designers of the game did not see fit to create a moster with the form and purpose of a breast pump - limiting your options somewhat.

Further, while a small quantity of milk can be kept at room temperature for a while, the amounts you'd need would spoil quickly. You could deal with smaller doses, but then you have someone ferrying milk back and forth nearly constantly for a good portion of a year. You're better off (for the child's sake) with a live nurse.

Such a choice WILL be dangerous for the nurse, whoever that may be. But the child's life may be judged more important than any of theirs would be.

okay polymorph was to have someone polymorph into a post labor woman.

I am not going to even think or respond to to the sucking of milk/polymorph thing.

non-skilled as in if the nursemaid we choice does not have the skill to fight.
That was the non-skilled and baby aka nursemaid and baby gets protected by us.

Just why bring another person in. If the six of us can not keep the kid safe what will that extra NPC do?

Hence the ring gates. the baby can be passed through plenty of times, and we can get the milk through the ring gates for a resupply when needed. It would be the same as having a nursemaid with us- except not with us.

Thus we don't need to carry pounds or days or weeks supply with us anywhere even if we could get it which has been ampaly stated it can not work in any fashion without a pump which can't be done. But passing the baby through the ring gate can happen.

The milk sucking is what I thought you meant because, at current, it's the only way that we could get the milk.. apologies for the misunderstanding - didn't get your post as this is all it said:

:) Yep - it's totally gross.

But - I don't think that you can change your womanly biological state with one of those spells.
