Babies

Hence the ring gates. the baby can be passed through plenty of times, and we can get the milk through the ring gates for a resupply when needed. It would be the same as having a nursemaid with us- except not with us.

Thus we don't need to carry pounds or days or weeks supply with us anywhere even if we could get it which has been ampaly stated it can not work in any fashion without a pump which can't be done. But passing the baby through the ring gate can happen.
And - most importantly - all of this baby passing assumes that Jaine lives through childbirth.

Also - the extra NPC serves as a sort of scapegoat for responsibility for the child and the wetnurse. In that way, we do not have to keep one eye on the battle and one eye on the baby... was my option if we could not find a nursemaid that was also qualified to defend the baby, if necessary... which is why we originally opted for Dara... but - it currently seems that she is a bit of a loony toon.

I never said it was a perfect solution, but Archonus won't have a wetnurse that is not also a capable warrior... we may not have the option of finding those two abilities in one individual.

I like the idea of finding a girl from the Jade Forest. We know they make good warriors.
It's a long shot... all up to Kennon, really... he's generally opposed to bringing in new NPCs this late in the game (recalling the Cohort discussion)...

But he seems fine with bringing in two extra NPCs -one nanny and one as the nannies badyguard?

I'll make it a question since he seems fine with bringing a new one in through all the discussion thus far.

He's okay with brining in Dara or Tara because they already exist... but I'm recalling the fact that he wouldn't let us write up *new* characters for the Cohort stuff - had to find an existing NPC to fill that role...

Which is what brining in someone from Jade Forest would be doing... but - this is just Liz attempting to predict what Kennon's reactions will be to any given situation... not my personal feeling. I think it would be sweet - a wise decision for the child and an opportunity - 16 levels after starting - to travel to where Justice really *began* :)

I think that bringing Dara along would be complicated at best. I'd vote for Tara if those are our only two choices.

Although, if we didn't actually want to look after a woman, a willing lady could always just stick her boob through the ring gate several times per day. It wouldn't even count towards the gate's maximum transfer per day. And if something happened to the ring gate that made it unusable, Hyrwl is just a teleport away.

Tara would not be able to provide the milk for the child, is the problem... we'd have to bring in a peasant wetnurse if she comes... which again raises the NPC problem... which I wish Kennon were around to answer...

Babies eat a lot more than I think we are anticipating... and, I don't think we have enough teleports for ourselves and every time the baby gets cranky and needs to eat...
