It *looks* like a painted turtle - we have them by the dozens in our pond.

Except for the shell. Painteds have a darker shell without the cool landshark fin. This boy's got a cool bulette shell.

I don't know what kind of turtle it is, sadly. But I like the shell

It's a map turtle, Graptemys genus.
