MEG Hal
First Post
After a 4 hour wait in the airport i arrived in Vegas around 12:30 am PST. Now most would say got to bed and get ready for a crazy few days but when we all get together it does not work that way. It was crazt, it seemed we had double the people from last year. I heard it was up 30-50%--WizKids had a drop ship and it was very big, and very cool. It was so busy I barely had time to run by everyones booths. GR got a slew of Origins nominations (congrats) and fun was had by all (except for the war, we were glued to the TV for a bit).
Highlights in no particular order:
Hard Rock dinner with Jim Butler
Dinner with a crew of people and where we decided to pretend Alex (Mongoose) was from France, and he also had "desert issues", it was funny if you where there.
Breakfast with AV from WoTC
Breakfast with Monte and Sue Cook, I love those guys!
Getting all the positive feedback on our books
Meeting new publishers and retailers
Seeing all the great new product from all of us--some highlights was Living Imagination, Troll Lords, OWC, seeing Armageddon 2089-Total war in person (by Mogoose, it is a BEAUTIFUL book)
Seeing Ed S from WoTC and Stan -Game Mechanics again
Meeting Andy Collins and Gwendolyn Kestrel for the first time
Seeing The Sigil for the first time
And working on some awesome deals for MEG to be even bigger and blink more in 2004!
Seeing all my friends whom I do not see enough of
Darkfuries coming over and giving me a compliment
An unknown female (ok, I know her) saying how cute I was---the husband was with her so it was all good(they know who they are
Basic overall goofiness with my pallies to numerous to mention
Meeting and enjoying hanging with the West Coast half of Necromancer Games, Bill W
Lows in no particular order:
Not sleeping enough (been up over 24, but wanted to post before I went to sleep)
Realizing that you need pants to get into GTS
No one new how big this show was so publisher freebies were tough this year
Losing money--again!
Falling alseep within 10 minutes of LoTR: TT on our hotel room TV (Gandalf and the Balrog were falling, next thing I knew I was getting yelled at for snoring)
Not getting one of those D&D 3.5 briefcases
Overall it was a very good show and you will hear about pieces fo it over the next 6 months or so.
Thanks all in making my GTS 2003 show a personal success.
