Back in the day...

Yeah, so I'm 15 years old. Compared to you fogies, I have no right to go around yakking about how idillic things were back when I was a wee whipper-snapper. But hey, it's not that they weren't idillic. It just wasn't that long ago.

Anyway, I got into role-playing after some friends of mine saw the oh-so-suckful D&D movie. I was about 9 or 10 years old at the time. Anyway, the father of some of those friends had played D&D back in college and told them a bit about it. This prompted Sam, the eldest of us, to start running a sort of psuedo-D&D mix between standard role-playing games and just some kids messing around in their back yard. It was very fresh and fun, but faded away quickly when we found out the "real" rules of the game.

But that doesn't mean that our outdoor dungeon hack romps weren't fun. And that doesn't mean that they can't still be fun. And hell, they might even be fun for grown men like you.

So I wrote this.

Enjoy,
--Jeff.

Wow, wait a loving, patient, and faithful woman she is. That's like flowers once a week for life or something similiar :D

Back in the day (way, way back) Dragon was good. It was actually cool. It had reviews and articles about games other than D&D, and the reviewers actually made some sense. And it had Wormy. Nothing in Dragon since has ever come close to Wormy. 'Course you had to deal with the occasional complete waste of space that was Gygax's Up on a Soapbox (or whatever it was called), but still...good times.

Dude, no offense...but that's not necessarily something to brag about.

I'm turning 17 on the 22nd. Sigh...just got a job, getting my license, growing up...sigh. Oh well, I'm sure there's a lot to look forward to.

LOL...images of broke-down, hole ridden, stink trap sneakes come to mind eh?

Nothing quite that bad, just the wrestling shoes I wore in HS & one of the two pairs of boots I was issued at Parris Island.

Hey, I'm 18, and I have fond memories of my idyllic past to. You can never be too young to remember being a whippersnapper. Even if you still are one.
