This is the first article in quite some time I can't find anything in particular to complain about. It's just well written and perfect for what it tries to do. I also loved the cover art! Worth waiting for.

Good article. Even has a nice map in it as well. :)

Does anyone wonder if we're seeing the first of the cancelled book to --> Insider article right here? After all, the Nentir Vale book disappeared off the WotC and Amazon site before the other (now more infamous) books did.

I hope so, it would be nice to start getting monthly write-ups on locations in Nentir Vale. And, it would make me feel better about losing a book from later in the year when I can start reading content from it today.

Does anyone else think that this content was originally intended for the Nentir Vale Gazetteer book that was removed from the product schedule? Looks like a great, flavourful article.

It does look to me like this could have been at least partly taken from the Gazetteer. If they have to pillage books to get good articles again, so be it.

Maybe, but the first sidebar seems to indicate that this was an outgrowth of a seminar that happened at GenCon 2009.

Good article. Nice map. Keep it up, WOTC!

Articles like this, plus good adventures a la "Lord of the White Field" and "Bark at the Moon" (...if only it had maps...) are exactly what I want from DDI.

Far more interesting than those 3-pages-and-4-feats articles.

Heh, that's hilarious.

I made a hex map of the Nentir Vale for my game. I randomly generated content to populate the empty areas of the map. Here's what I got for one of the hexes of Lake Wintermist:

Settlement of 85 people based around a Fish, Cursed!

Cursed, awesome. I could probably use the town from the article as it stands. Very cool coincidence!

("based around a Fish" just means that they fish for sustenance, instead of logging or something like that.)
