Backdrop - Mistwatch article up

Excellent article! I must say, the quality of WotC's story and setting material has gone up dramatically in the last few months.

Yes, they seem to be trending upward in quality with DDI (from a very, very low point not too long ago).

I quit in disgust in October, and signed up for a 3 month trial last month after hearing some positive rumors about the adventures I mentioned above. If they keep this up, I might even feel good about renewing again in March.

I was pleasantly surprised. It's a nice adventure framework that could be easily dropped into any number of campaigns. I liked the counter-intuitive story elements (what's going on isn't quite what it seems on first glance), and there's a nice amount of helpful crunch and production support (map!) to make creating an adventure in the setting easier.

And, just as good, the article doesn't spend a dozen pages detailing cookie-cutter encounters. It is helpful to me when WotC designs encounters with a monster, tactic or terrain used in a new and/or interesting way. An arbitrary arrangement of dungeon tiles with pre-published monsters is just a waste of resources. (I understand how to write a delve now, thanks...)

This is a really nice article. I like the flavor, the crunch, and most of all the design space. I have more than enough to run in a pinch or build upon as I see fit, which is really all I could ask for from a Dungeon article. Great length, too.

I really really liked it and I want to use it now, unfortunately my campaign is going in a totally different direction at the moment, more scifi ranther than undead horrors.

I also liked the article. Was intending to give the intro a quick skim and then move on, but after reading a bit, I got sucked into reading the entire thing! Now thats a good article!

They should have plenty of good material, with the cancellation of the Nentir Vale book and the treasure book, they should be flush with good articles.

Glad this article is good, I can use more good locales....
