While I normally write OSR products, I'm getting ready to launch a project on Backerkit that's funding the printing of two books geared towards creating hexcrawls and sandbox settings, with the purpose of being system-neutral.

  1. The first is Filling in the Blanks. I published this book six years ago, and it has since gone Platinum on Drivethrurpg. The book provides tables and guidelines for generating features in hexes for use in hexcrawls. I'm revising it to be more system-neutral (it was originally written for Old School Essentials) and will be printing an offset version (it has never been printed offset before). You can see a preview of the book here. It was also reviewed on the Bones of Contention blog a few years back.
  2. The second is a hexcrawl workbook. Last year I funded a spiral-bound hexcrawl workbook that was designed to use as a daily planner, as well, with a calendar-style, page-a-day format. I'm revising this book to function more like a hexcrawl workbook. It will still have 365 hexes, for folks who want to participate in a hex-a-day challenge, but will be more functional and general purpose, as well. I'm doing spiral-bound because the pages lay flat to make it easier to use as a workbook.
The goal is to launch in the middle of July, and have printed books ready to ship out by mid-October.
