February 23, 2002 (North Providence, RI) -- Bad Axe Games, in partnership with Ronin Arts, is pleased to announce that Phil Reed's THE BOOK OF UNUSUAL TREASURES has arrived in Osseum's warehouse for immediate distribution.

GMs looking for new and interesting ways to reward their players will find literally hundreds of items within the pages of this single collection, illustrated by Christopher Shy. A single table organizes the entries according to value, enabling the GM to substitute any of these items for an equivalent amount of random gold, gems, or artwork.

Ask for THE BOOK OF UNUSUAL TREASURES at your friendly local game store today!

Great news. Congrats. Looks like another addition to my gaming library, as opposed to my gaming collection.
(If it had arrived but a few days earlier I would have tried hitting you up for another Game Day donation. :D )

Well, crap, and you'd have got it, too.

There may be hope yet, there's a case on its way to me, so if I get it, I'll get it to you by Saturday.

I wanted to specifically call this out a second time as I think it's one of the more important contributions Bad Axe made to the book (other than just getting it printed with a nice cover and all...)

I know lots of folks own, and happily use, Phil's various 101 PDFs-- I think it's worth taking a look at the print version for this "Index by Value" alone. If you're otherwise considering putting a 100 gp gem into a treasure horde, just run your finger down the Value column until you hit the 100 gp range and pick something more interesting!

I also want to point out that all of the spellbooks included were updated to correct 3.5e values for spellbooks based on the spell levels contained within(notwithstanding the ones that add some weird feat or skill...)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are most generous.

Ooh! A book I can use from a company I want to support!

What a delightful combination!

I'll look for it - or order it if it cannot be found.

I look forward to seeing a copy. The index was a great addition and -- by itself -- a valuable tool for DMs.

This is a big, beautiful book.

I usually order a case of books to be sent directly to my house, for sending to authors/contributors, giving to friends, and filling a few orders we take through the website. A case of Halflings, for example, was 96 books.

A case of Treasures is 44 books-- so you can see that it is larger (8.5 by 11), and thicker (96 pages) and that, as soon as we turn on Treasures sales on the website (not yet, not yet!) they'll be gone in no time!

Which of the PDFs were included in the product?
Idly wondering if any of my materials made it into the final product there.
Not that I wouldn't buy it anyway... since I do have one of the limited edition versions of Phil's previous works on the subject... and it would be nice to keep the limited edition one from getting beaten up.

Oh man, it's all a blur to me. Hopefully Phil can pop in and answer for you.

EDIT: Just so I don't look like a complete boob, part of the reason for my uncertainty is that Phil was feeding me material at the time that he had not yet published in PDF-- so in some cases I don't know what title will make sense to you PDF buyers.

Off the top of my head:

101 Spellbooks
101 Mundane Treasures
101 Arcane Components

Those are my "for sure"'s. Maybe Another 101 Mundane...

There's lot of treasures, lots of feats, skills, spells, poisons, unusual materials, and so on! It's packed, I tell ya-- PACKED!
