Bad Moon Waning

Anyone played this download from WOTC for 3.5 10th Level PCs? Looking for some creative way to introduce a fairly "new" group to their new PCs using this as a first adventure. I've only read slightly more then half so far, but should finish it tommorrow.

I ran it, and as I recall it wasn't bad but there were a couple of issues I had with its consistency (it's been awhile, so I don't remember what they were). There's also the issue of the PCs potentially ending up with a magic item that may be more powerful than the DM cares to allow into the game (at that level; it's targetted for a 10th-level party).

I thought of that as well...

I was planning on running this adventure for my PCs sometime soon. They're actually around 12th level right now- so it shouldn't really be an issue. Although, as a bit of a more interesting hook, I decided to have a little mini-adventure first... the PCs are approached by an elf named Svrd Coppermoon (a variation of a name mentioned in one of the possible plot hooks of the adventures) wanting the PCs to go retrieve a magical item for him. He tells them about it, tells them that it's supposedly some cursed item that he was interested in studying... and then the PCs find out it's in the possession of a dragon. So they go fight the dragon, get the item, and return it to the guy, at which point he takes it, and skips out of town without paying them. At least, that's how I was hoping it would turn out, because then the PCs would have to try and find out where this guy went, and after a year or so (of downtime, that is) they find out that a shady character was last seen heading off into some remote woods in the middle of nowhere.

However, as all of you know, PCs almost never do what you want them to do. As soon as they got this item (which turned out to be Gnarlpaw's Fang, of course) they immediately went and had a million people try and identify it before returning it to this guy. I told them that it was an artifact, but I couldn't very well tell them exactly what it did- or it would ruin the entire next adventure. So I told them that it was one of many artifacts created by a group of wizards several hundred uears previous... and this particular one was designed by a wizard with a particular interest in transformations. They probably got the impression I didn't want to tell them what it did, they agreed to give it to the guy... but they said they weren't going to deliver it to him until he paid them. So he sent a messenger to pay them, and next thing they knew, he had his artifact and he was gone.

So I'm gonna have to come up with another hook for them once we actually start the adventure. But I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Anyway, how long did the adventure take when you ran it? Any suggestions for me?

I actually just finished reading the adventure and will shoot for running it in the next week. Just started a new game with a bunch of D20/3.5 "nubes".
They are playing a simple party consisting of:

Human Wizard (Evoker) Lots of fire and a weasel familiar
Half Orc Cleric CN Strength and War Domains
Human Fighter the Tank w/ Spring Attack and Whirlwind Attack
Halfling Rogue Sneak Attacks galore!

All 10th Level

Are there any other 3.5 adventures yet other than these from WOTC? Or do we have to wait for Eberron?

I think we played through it in an evening...maybe two. It was a filler between larger adventures.

As for suggestions...well, maybe the messenger got whacked en route, someone stole the fang, and it ended up in possession of the guy in the module. The original buyer puts the PCs on his trail, which leads them to the village...?

The ones I've downloaded (from the WotC site):

- Lochfell's Secret
- Matters of Vengeance
- Hasken's Manor

There may be others, but these specifically say they're for 3.5.
