Rune

Once A Fool
In a game in which all PCs were animals: Party met Crow in the woods and Dog gave him something shiny in exchange for something or other. The shiny? The tag off of Dog’s collar.

The bad news: Turns out later that Crow was the familiar of a witch living deep in the woods.

The worse news: That witch now possessed Dog’s Truename.

We had a game of Paranoia XP where the bad news was we failed our mission. The worse news was that the rocket we found and thought we escaped on was actually a nuclear missile, and we were going on a one way trip. Why Friend Computer would put seats on a nuke, I don’t know, but Friend Computer works in mysterious ways is always right.

We always send an observation team with our nuclear weapons, to make sure they are effective and land in the right place. They always do land in the right place and are 100% effective. Failure to report the successful delivery, citizen, is therefore treason.

Lord of the Hidden Layer
From a Feng Shui game, a decade or so ago.

GM: "You know that woman who annoyed you in last week's time travel adventure?"
Player: "The one I ate?" (The character is, in essence, a were-dragon)
GM: "Yes... she was your mother."
Edit from this point:

Player (in Luke Skywalker voice): ... I have no memory of my mother...
