Balance

Well compadres, i have successfully trashed balance. in favor of fun over balance, i choose fun. I let the PC's in a new campaign im running be any template/race/class that their little hearts decide. Now my only question is in regard to the places that they'll have to go. I have a 10th lvl Half-Fiend Shade Death Kight Sorcerer, a 10 lvl Spell-Stiched Paladin/Blackguard Vampire and a Troll Half-Dragon (red) Monster of Ledgend. (we liked the monster manual 2 ;)) Now, the sorcerer is and ecl if 25, while the others are just a little below 20. I have a few ideas about how to proceed with the cities and the conquest.....but im stuck. They are going to dominate and control a chain of islands, but after that, im not sure where to head. World conquest is the supreme goal, but as soon as the entire world hears of the overthrow, they will be hunted and eventually exterminated. Just need some other opinions.

One of the islands has an active volcano that erupts and acts as a gateway to the para-elemental plane of magma. Magma-men invade the island. Players can fight the magma-men all the way to their Magma-bossguy or strike up an alliance with a lord of the para-elemental plane of steam.

Well, nice idea, but the dragon would wipe the floor with the magma men...and that largest, and only, active volcano on the chain of islands, happens to be the birthing place of OF the dragon. So, if he layed there for a few millenia, waiting the right time to strike, he wouldnt notice a portal leading to the para elemental plane of steam. That's just too hard to grasp, especially since the PC that is playing the dragon knows what he's doin :).Thanks for the insight, though

Create a party of heros that will try to stop the PCs. They, of course, will be able to use all the races, classes, templates, etc.

The parties may meet more than once in an arcing story line. The PCs should come to understand that the heros are their BBEG, so to speak.
