Well compare:
Rage: +4 str/Con, +2 Will, -2 AC
Whirling: +4 Str/Dex, -2 ranged attacks beyond 30 ft. Penalty Fatigued.
Ferocity: + 4 Str. +2 Dodge AC/ Reflex saves. Extra attack (but all attacks have -2 hit). Penalty: Sickened.

Whirling and Ferocity have same potential AC/Saves, but Max Dex bonus limits Ferocity's AC sometimes.

Drawback at end is similar.

Rage also causes fatigue.
Whirling is +2 dodge AC and reflex saves. NOT +4 Dex, which would benefit several other things as well. Whirling gives an extra attack, with all attacks at -2, just as Ferocity does, assuming you have that info correct. Whirling does nothing to adversely affect ranged attacks.

I'm guessing you just mixed up Ferocity and Whirling when listing them, though I'm not familiar enough with Ferocity to be sure of that.

He has Whirling and Ferocity mixed up:

Ferocity: +4 Str/Dex, -2 ranged attacks beyond 30 ft. Penalty: Sickened .
Whirling: + 4 Str. +2 Dodge AC/ Reflex saves. Extra attack (but all attacks have -2 hit). Penalty Fatigued.

In addition, Ferocity lets you enter your 'rage' as an immediate action, even when you are flatfooted, at later levels gains additional AC bonus, can stand up from prone without attacks of oppertunity, starts out with a longer 'base' duration and at higher levels the duration of the ferocity increases (which would normally happen for rage because your con would increase)
