Bardic Archmage?

Sledged, it's all about the spirit of the prerequisite, in preference to over-literalist application of The Utter And Exact Words As Printed(TM).

Well, if you are not sure, think about it: Would you consider it unbalanced or not fitting the theme, if a bard becomes an archmage? If yes, don`t allow it. If no, let the bard become an archmage.

(Since bards could also become loremasters, I wouldn`t be against it...)

Right. I personally wouldn't have problems to allow Improved Spell Capacity to let you qualify... in any case I'd be having other troubles if I were playing at epic levels :p

Unfortunately, the spirit is always subjective. It's gets too easy to think you know what the designer intended. It could be written one way, designed another way, and interpreted yet a third way. If the spirit of the rules were that easy to be divined, there'd never be a need for FAQs or clearifications.

You guys DO realize you are talking about an Epic Level Bard, don't you? That would be, a Bard who lives long enough to see Epic Levels... When has this ever happened? :p

omg! Someones playing a Bard!

Oh my god, someones playing a Bard ArchMage!

Somewhere out there, right now, there is an Epic Archmage who sings to get his spells!

*head explodes*
