Barding and Armor prof.

i know this has been discussed at length months ago, but I only casually glanced at it. As far as I can tell, no animal meant for riding has armor profs whatsoever and yet they are made to have armor... so do the mounts take armor check penalties to attacks as a character or are they immune to such negatives? The players handbook says nothing on it one way or another for armoring creatures.

I beleive the thread i mentioned that already discusses this was discussing the paladins mount in specific, if anyone cares to just link me to that.

I don't have a link, but the animal type entry says:

—Proficient with no armor unless trained for war.

Which implies that war training gives the creature armor proficiencies (which I think should have been reflected in the heavy warhorse, light warhorse, and warpony entries).
