Battle For Gobwin Knob

I look at it every now and then, since it is little effort to click on the link when I am checking out OotS. But thus far, I am underwhelmed. I know (from Rich's initial statement) that it is not intended to be a joke-a-strip type thing, but what few jokes there have been have been pretty lame. ("Lord Stanley the Tool", "Plot", "ORLY" and so on).

However, the real problem is that I just don't care about the characters. I don't care about the Prince. I don't care about Lord Stanley, I don't care about the gamer geek, or the "hot" croakamancer. I don't care about the impending battle, or the story, or really anything that is going on. Stuffed creatures living in a turn based strategy game don't make for compelling characters, or a plotthat is interesting in the least.

I don't see that as a factor on whether I like or dislike the strip. A stuffed creature is just a weird golem or weird natural creature, and the references to turns aren't much different than the references to level in OOTS. It's not that engaging to me, but I don't think that has anything to do with all that.

I'm still reading it. Not entirely enjoying it, but not horribly disliking it either. It's just kinda neutral for me.

The names are kind of annoying though, I admit. Some are a little funny, but not really enough to make me laugh out loud, but most just seem lame.
