Battlefield Elocution seems like a in game fix for player behavior, i.e. the habit of discussing my plans with the other players who's characters are on the far side of a large battle. But an idea, admittedly abusive, occurs to me...
Many bard abilities and powers require (in the game world) their allies to be within voice range. Things like Verse of Triumph, Chargers Call, and Word of Mystic Warding. Would the range of effect be applicable following the casting of Battlefield Elocution? How would you, as a DM, rule on this? As a fan of the inworld universe, I feel it is perfectly applicable, but as a player of the game, it looks like it is far too powerful and broken.
For clarity, an example: Majestic Word, in it's flavor text, states that you utter a word that restores your allies stamina. If I have battlefield elocution active, allies can hear anything said up to 100 squares away. Would it affect him, even though the spell mechanic states close burst 5?
Oh, and finally, I couldn't find a question like this elsewhere on EnWorld. Am I repeating an ancient question? And if so, please link me to that forum.
