Battlegrounds Games is currently running a crowdfunding campaign to develop version 2.0 of the Battlegrounds Gaming Engine (aka BGE) software, in order to add new features, improve existing features, port more games, restore Mac-compatibility, and more.
BGE is cross-platform virtual tabletop software for creating and playing digital versions of boardgames. The ported games can be played solitaire, or multiplayer (online or on a LAN), with up to 16 participants. There is no dependency on a central game server, so the app can be used offline if needed.
Port your favorite games to BGE, without a lick of coding/scripting, XML editing, or anything of the sort. Porting games can be nearly as much fun as playing them.
BGE should be considered another alternative to well-established VTT programs such as Vassal, Tabletop Simulator, Cyberboard, ZunTzu, and ADC2. It features a hidden-until-you-need-it interface, to make games more immersive.
