There is a Battlestar Galactica RPG at Amazon.com Here

It says it will be released March 14, but I have heard nothing about it so far.

Anyone know anything about it or if it actually is to be released this week?

Oh when it comes to non-WOTC RPGs, I don't believe a word they say about dates. Even when they are right, they are wrong because they under order and push back the delivery date.

Which? That it was made by MWP, that it uses the Cortex system, or both?

If it's MWP, then that's your prerogative and I won't go into it any more beyond that. If it's the system, I would point out that MWP's books are full of setting and background info. Even if you don't use the Cortex system, then you could easily adapt it to d20 Modern/d20 Future, GURPS, or whichever system floats your boat.

My recommendation would be to look over the entire book before you make a decision. If you find the book still is not to your tastes, that's fine. But maybe you'll find some jewels in there in the form of setting info.

I like the show and all but it seems to me that a BG RPG would be very boring.

Exactly why I'm not going to buy it.

MWP has produced some pretty awesome books. And the Cortex system--while maybe not everyone's favorite--isn't too bad. A lot like the old Sov Stone system, actually.
