Yeah get down to the gym and makes sure you look something like me

And the two other guys in my group

...and before you ask, yes those are my wife's picks ;)

Aw man, I look like none of those guys. Well, maybe I could dress up and fence like the last two.

Further details have emerged. Basically we just have to turn up and have this guy play a session with us. I figure the best way to do this will be using one of the gameday handout sets with pre-gens and such. I've got the original launch day set, so I'll go with that unless anyone wants to provide more. We've got a girl too!

I enjoy BBC Four productions. Their previous Comics Britannia was a good watch, so looking forward to this one too.

All the best with the filming, nice location indeed!

I would advocate using the best 'props' available too, since TV is obviously a visual medium. Nice maps or floor tiles and nicely painted miniatures (at least for the PCs - DDM minis would probably do for the monsters) would be essential to come across well on screen. Sure, they may never get close enough with the camera to show the detail, but they might.

The honour of role-playing lies on your shoulders!

Cheers,
Dan

To be honest I'm interested to hear that you are part of 'the roleplaying group here in Cambridge' rather than a roleplaying group here in Cambridge.

Does this mean that the rest of us are doing something wrong?

Yes it does. It means you're not playing enough Torg.

:D

To the OP, just be yourselves. You can't really be anything else anyway, and trying to come across as something you're not will only make you look stupid. If the document-makers already have an editorial direction in mind, there's not much you can do about that. You are who you are. As others have said, just be polite. And if the document-makers are interested in groups post-University, there are a bunch of us in the area.

I think the only advice I'd give is to be really, really aware that the person coming in needs to be treated as intelligent and not as an outsider. They'll have a ton of questions about things you take for granted, so have answers ready for all the stuff that you'll need to explain.

Work out exactly what you like about gaming, and make sure you mention it a lot - and remember that if you talk about collaborative story-telling and socialising it's probably going to come across better than "I like dressing up as an elf" stuff.

Note: There is nothing wrong with dressing up as an elf in my mind - but I'm not the great British public!

I really hope you'll come back on the site and let us know when the programme goes on the air!
