[BDP] Master at Arms - Glaive Knight released! Plus new product bundles!

BLACKDIRGE

Adventurer

The 20th installment of the Master at Arms line explores a popular and versatile polearm: the glaive. Although appearing as little more than a “knife on a stick,” the glaive presents a number of intriguing and potent options for a fighter looking to specialize in a reach weapon. The glaive knight takes full advantage of the glaive’s power and versatile nature, and can use his weapon to strike horrendously powerful blows, catch opponents unaware, or even fortify a position along with other polearm-wielders.

So if your looking for a prestige class that combines reach, power, and versatility, look no further than Blackdirge Publishing and Master at Arms: Glaive Knight.

Master at Arms – Glaive Knight contains 8 pages of new d20 material, which includes the following:
  • A historical look at the composite glaive and glaive-like weapons.
  • Author’s design notes.
  • The glaive knight prestige class.
  • Two new reach weapons: the Japanese naginata and the Chinese guan dao.
  • Lord Isamu Irontusk, an honorable orge mage glaive knight.
In addition to this release, I’ve updated the Master at Arms product bundles and added a new one, the Ultra Bundle, which allows you to get every single Master at Arms product for only $22.00.

Hmmm... for some reasons, that contracting weapon enhancement you've published in the Spear Sentinel handbook looks very tempting with the Glaive Knight.

Let's see:
- Glaive Knight + Shield Bearer = Best phalanx fighter ever when using a shield wall
- Glaive Knight + Tempest = Why using 1 when you can wield two glaives at once ? Dual Strike (Complete Adventurer) could be very useful with the knight's Fighting Withdrawal and Double Hit (Miniature Handbook) could be useful with Deceptive Opportunist.

I'm getting some ideas here... a greater half-dragon, perhaps ?

Hope you're not running out of ideas BG. Ok, let's see which weapons could deserve a prestige class:

- the kukri, mainly used for skirmishing scouts in the middle-east or desert regions
- the flail, mainly used by rather brutal and barbaric warriors
- the trident, mainly used by gladiators, sometimes in conjunction with a net
- the greatclub, mainly used by prehistoric warriors (think cavemens)
- the greatsword, mainly used by tribal warriors
- the warhammer, mainly used by barbarians and vikings
- the longbow, mainly used by many civilizations as well as japanese warriors
- the scythe, mainly used by revolting peasans. While not a real historical weapon of war, peasans had to use any tool they have, that includes pitchforks, shovels, rakes and of course, scythes.

that's about it for martial weapons. As for exotic weapons, well, the only ones than could work out would be the kama, nunchaku, sai and siangham, all used for ninjas and monks from Oriental Asia, the whip, think a new version of the lasher from Sword and Fist and the bolas, used by tribal warriors.

Hope that helps !
