Freeport!

Green Ronin!: Huzzah for Freeport!

Nobody is mentioning all those hard-working PDF folks out there.

There's Malhavoc (OK, Monte's been mentioned)
Ronin Arts (101 series books are awesome)
Worldworks (dungeonworks, caveworks, these things are amazing!)
Oone Games (dungeon tiles are beautiful)
Silverthorne Games (I love the Book of Templates)

These are just a few.

Green Ronin is #1 for me, no question. Book of the Righteous, Testament, Skull & Bones, Book of Fiends, Unholy Warrior's Handbook, Witch's Handbook, and Shaman's Handbook are incredible.

FFG is a very close #2. If I ran Midnight more often, they would be #1. Midnight, Dawnforge, the Legends and Lairs series are excellent.

Mystic Eye is #3. I love their style and atmosphere, and their Foul Locales series is great for adventure hooks or short encounters.

Atlas' Penumbra line is tied at #3 with Mystic Eye. The Penumbra Fantasy Bestiary is wonderful, and Dynasties & Demagogues and Crime & Punishment have really shaped my campaign a lot. All of their adventures are great too- much more than dungeon hacks.

Mongoose is #4. While they have the occasional rules glitch, I don't worry about the power level of their material as much as I do with many WotC supplements. But their ideas are top notch, and the Quint. series outshines the WotC splatbooks balance and flavor-wise.

I think this has turned into a "Favorite Publisher" list...which is okay. The "Best" publishers in my mind are:

Malhavoc...Nobody else does PDF and printed books. Top quality editing too...

Fantasy Flight Games...High production values and solid support

Mystic Eye Games...Solid work all around (except for the art ;) )

Necromancer Games...High quality production and solid support

Green Ronin...High quality production and solid support

Well best or not, I still vote Scarred Lands all the time. Malhavoc/GR/Atlas/MEG/Necromancer/Athaus/FFG are all tied at second place. :)

I agree, Freeport rocks. Next behind Green Ronin are Streets of Silver by Living Imagination and MEG's Bluffside. (Thanks again Hal.)

Ah, I'm so glad this book is on someone's list. Of course, I'm biased.

Other d20 System publishers who put out the best stuff, IMO...

* Bastion Press (Airships, Minions: Fearsome Foes, Oathbound: Domains of the Forge)

* Expeditious Retreat Press (A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe) - awsome book.

* Fantasy Flight Games (Sorcery & Steam, Spells & Spellcraft, Seafarer's Hanbook, Path of the Sword, Mythic Races)

* MonkeyGod Enterprises (From Stone to Steel, Tsar Rising) - Eagerly awaiting Frost & Fur!

* Necromancer Games (Gary Gygax's Necropolis, Hall of the Rainbow Mage)
