Best d20 Publishers?

My top ten:

Honorable mention - Thunderhead & Gaslight Press. I love these companies. But only 1 item each! The jury is still out....
also Eden Studios - nothing since last GenCon!

10 - Mongoose - Love those Slayers Guides & Q:Fighter.

9 - Fiery Dragon - Until Of Sound Mind came out, their counters was all I liked. OSM is one of the best adventures out there, bar none.

8 - Monkey God - They keep publishing good, quality adventures.

7 - Fantasy Flight - Their Legends & Lairs are better than AEG's entry.

6 - Necromancer - 1st edition feel is there.

5 - Paradigm - Their Hard/Soft Points for adventures helps a GM greatly. BTW: Finish your trilogy already!! Waiting for part 3. :(

4 - Troll Lord - I'm a little biased, as I ran an adventure for them at Origins last year, but their adventures are right on.

3 - AEG - They have over 40! adventures out there and their sourcebooks are better than WOTC.

2 - Kenzer - Well designed (with ImageQuest), well written adventures. The Coin trilogy IS the best starting adventure out there.

and first:

1A - Atlas Games
1B - Green Ronin

You guys were the first. When the 3rd ED PHB was released at GenCon, nearly everyone brought a copy. But most people after buying it thought, "Now what? I have the book, but I could use an adventure to give it a test run".

You were there. I still have my pre-release copies of "Three Days to a Kill" and "Death in Freeport". For newbies who want to try out 3rd ED, I run those adventures. And they are hooked. Every time. For old timers who have "come back", I have run it. They are hooked.

Each has a sourcebook that should be on every DM's list. For Atlas, it's either En Route or Touched by the Gods. For Green Ronin, it's Legions of Hell.

Each has a adventure that I consider to be of the "gold standard" for d20. Atlas has Maiden Voyage, Green Ronin's is Death in Freeport. I will start my next new group with Maiden Vovage. Their destination: Freeport.

You were the first. And in my very humble opinion, you're each the best. :D :D

FFG - Really solid generic third party supplements. Add Dragonstar to this and you have a darned solid publisher.
Kenzer - Kalamar is the best classic fantasy setting out there. They maintain really high production values. They are also the only company that goes through a review process twice - internally at Kenzer and then again at WotC. In some ways this makes their products more scrutinized than any other company.
Privateer Press - Really high quality adventures and the forthcoming setting seems like it will have a very distinctive feel that will set it apart from the pack.

1. Fantasy Flight Games - superb Legends and Lairs series and the fabulous Dragonstar setting.

2. Malhavoc Press - Monte Cook? BoEM? Need I say more?

3. Green Ronin - Legions of Hell!!! Lots of cool stuff coming up...

4. Sword and Sorcery (White Wolf) - Relics and Rituals kicked them off to a good start and the Scarred Lands setting shows great promise. Kudos to WW for taking on Ravenloft...

4. Mongoose Publishing - Very useful and fairly cheap products.

5. AEG - Generally weak supplements but growing strong through Rokugan.

6. Bastion Press and Troll Lord Games - lots of promise from these two publishers. I'm holding my vote on these two....

I like Sword & Sorcery, although I haven't gotten one of their releases in a while.
The one AEG release I have, Dungeons, is awful!!
I have FFG's Traps & Treachery, which is pretty good.
Green Ronin's Legions of Hell is pretty good too.

I don't really have enough releases by most of these companies to rate them overall.

Definetly Privateer Press IMO. The Whitchfire Tillogy is the best I have seen yet on value, originality and character development. They even make a good read. The volume is still low, but I am waiting!

The campaingn setting is The Iron Kingdoms and the Monsternomicon is due out soon.

BTW they also won the 2001 ENNIE for best pubisher.

I would have to say that my favorite d20 publishers are as follows:

1. Fantasy Flight Games
2. Mongoose Publishing
3. Sword & Sorcery and Sovereign Press

I put Sovereign Press on the list for myself because I love their work in their Sovereign Stone setting, especially the magic system, and the quality of their work is absolutely amazing, far superior to many other works as far as I'm concerned.

For my money it is:

1 - Fantasy Flight Games
2 - Mongoose Publishing

They keep putting awesome stuff out faster than I can afford to pick it up!

D'oh! I forgot to add Malhavoc Press. Sorry Monte!

I have to say that Kenzer Co. is my favorite publisher with their Kalamar setting and the wonderful adventures that go with it.

I also like FFG’s source books but I have to admit I have not looked at Mongoose so I hate to say FFG is the best.

Generic adventures I would have to vote for Fiery Dragon.

Hardcore, kill the player adventures like AD&D… Oh, man, Necromancer has got that covered.
