Best High HP Skill Class

my con mod is +3, which is fine, but I'm gonna be starting the campaign at ecl 3 with 1 Hit Die, which, with 11 hp is way scarier than 15.

I'll probably just stick with Warblade. D12 hit die and a big skill list is good, its just too bad I dont like half the skills on the list for that particular character. Still, a +7 spot isnt so bad, considering the scent and blindsense, I guess.

I've burned my feat on Wild Cohort already, for a Shark Cohort.

If only Ranger had a good hit die. =(

You could go fighter, and then use the bonus feat to take Guerilla Scout, assuming it is applies as a Fighter bonus feat. That would then give you Spot and Listen as class skills and a d10 hit die.

I'd say aim for the Deepwarden prestige class from Races of Stone, but you're not a dwarf, and it doesn't sound like you are interested in a prestige class solution right now given this is a matter of one level. But, for those others maybe interested in this general topic, a Deepwarden gets a d12 hit die, full BAB, two good saves, 6 skill points a level, and a good skill class list including spot. Some decent class abilities including "add Constitution bonus to AC instead of Dexterity (if Con bonus is higher).

Scout is only d8 HD too but has trapfinding and more skillpoints than ranger. And you'll be able to enjoy skirmish.

Scout does not have full bab, but I considered it.

I'm gonna go like this, I think:

Warblade 1: Wild Cohort
Barbarian 1: Improved Grab, Rage 1/day
Ranger 1: Favored Enemy: Whatever Hags are, Track, Wild empathy, Feat 2
Warblade 2: New stuff
Maybe more warblade, or something, into a prc, or maybe just more warblade. I like warblade.

I'm going with lots of tiger claw maneuvers, and my first stance is the one that gives Scent.

I looked at Scaled Horror as a prc too, but imp grab was the big gain there, and I can now get that next level via Barbarian with totem variant from Complete Champ =)

Since sahuagin have more than one racial HD, don't they keep those when they take class levels? Isn't a sahuagin with a level of foozle effectively an ECL 5 character?

That said, just drop the class level and take the extra +1LA for extra arms. Extra arms are awesome.

Sahuagin DO have 2 racial HD, but the DM has stated we are not bound to take those 2 racial HD, so I am not.

I'm not having 4 arms, I refuse to be a 4 armed freak. Being a 2 armed Sahuagin is awesome enough. 60' swim speed, Blindsense, telepathic speech to sharks, scent, blood frenzy, talon/talon/bite/rake/rake, ridonkulous stat mods (+4 str, +2 dex, +2 con, +4 int, +2 wis, -2 cha), I'd be offended with MYSELF if I cheesed up 4 arms also.

Plus, I'm a girl Sahuagin, and girls with 4 arms are silly.

You better look again, or hope your DM doesn't look to closely:

Improved Grab
If a creature with this special attack hits with a melee weapon (usually a claw or bite attack), it deals normal damage and attempts to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. No initial touch attack is required. Unless otherwise noted, improved grab works only against opponents at least one size category smaller than the creature...

The version of Improved Grab that Scaled Horror gets is "otherwise noted", and works against creatures of the same size or smaller. ;)

I dont have Complete Champion in front of me, but I hope the Barbarian one is the same as the Scaled Horror one. If not, I'll swap that barb level for more ranger or warblade, and take at least one scaled horror level =)
