Best NETHACK (or similar) death

My favorite was short and sweet.

I created a paladin who came with a pony.
My first turn I tried to mount my pony (in the ride in the saddle sense) and slipped, fell, and broke my neck.

One turn/one kill.

I almost finished that game ;). I was three turns from the final stairway back up with the amulet of Yendor. I had been almost beaten to death by this frigging wizard. Then one of those darned grid-bugs jump at me. Guess what happened?

My samurai was churning through the lower. He had been eating everything he came across so he was satiated. He saw a fortune cookie on the floor, but couldn't pick it due to a full inventory. So he tried to eat it. He choked to death on it.

I've choked on a wraith corpse before. It's 0 food, but the check to see if you choke is before it actually adds the food value...

Happened played in forever, but the one I recall best (not mine) was a guy with autopickup on for weapons (usually an archer or slinger type), and started the game, Stormbringer (or some other aligned artifact) was right there, auto pickup, energy blasted, Would You Like To See....

Does Dwarf Fortress count as similar enough?

I've had plenty of hilariously bad deaths in that, although that's QUITE easy. My favorites included having an entire early fort wiped out when most of the dwarfs figured a bridge over a river, during flooding season, was the best place to sleep. And then there was the time I accidentally flooded the place with magma. And having a fisherdwarf killed by a carp. Good times.

I was inside a lurker above and got killed by a unicorn. I remember being utterly confused because I never saw the unicorn.
