Too many. Off the top of my head:

Advanced Bestiary
Book of Templates: Deluxe
Tomb of Horrors Revised
Magical Medieval Society series
Monster Geographica series
Template Troves series

Bit of a monster geek, me! :)

Pinotage

Hmm. . . OK. I can think of a few right now, that are meant for use with D&D 3e, not d20/OGL things like Conan. Although that game rocks, incidentally. I'm limiting it this way, following the OP's request to that effect. Also, I'm not including some of the excellent PDFs available.

From Stone to Steel
Deluxe Book of Templates
Dynasties & Demagogues
Crime & Punishment
Occult Lore
Anger of Angels
Book of the Righteous
Book of Fiends
Testament
Hyperconscious
Immortals Handbook: Epic Bestiary, Volume 1

Cobbling together some old lists to this effect:

  1. Hyperconscious - Psionic sourcebook jam packed with flavor and neat character building materials.
  2. Advanced Bestiary and Book of Templates: Two tastes that taste great together! A bottomless well of cool monster ideas.
  3. Complete Book of Eldritch Might (Malhavoc Press) and
  4. Magic and Mayhem (Sword & Sorcery) and...
  5. Spells and Magic (Bastion Press) - really cool magic sourcebooks.
  6. Rappan Athuk Reloaded - a classic megadungeon taken to new heights.
  7. Book of Fiends - Fiendish Goodness
  8. Denizens of Avadnu - Definitely one of the most undersold victims of the d20 market crash. Pure monster awesomeness.
  9. Tome of Horrors Revised - A great monster book filled with classic monsters that WotC missed out on (they did come back and do some, but I find most of ToH's takes better).
  10. Beyond Monks (Chainmail Bikini / Goodman Games) - Like Bo9S, but balanced.
  11. Necomancer's Legacy (EN Publishing / Mystic Eye) - Evil goodness
  12. Portals & Planes (Fantasy Flight Games)
  13. Advanced GMs Guide (Green Ronin)
  14. Book of the Righteous (Green Ronin)
  15. Beyond Countless Doorways (Malhavoc Press)
  16. From Stone to Steel (Monkey God)
  17. Classic Play: Book of the Planes (Mongoose)
  18. Masters of Arms (Second World Simulations)
  19. Second World Sourcebook (Second World Simulations)
  20. Relics & Rituals (Sword & Sorcery)
  21. Creature Collection II (Sword & Sorcery)
  22. Creature Collection Revised (Sword & Sorcery)

As in similar threads, I'm limiting myself to just three responses. These are, in order:

1. Tomb of Horrors Revised, by Necromancer Games
2. Advanced Bestiary, by Green Ronin Publishing
3. Wildscape, by Fantasy Flight Games

There are many others, including such honorable mentions as the Creature Collection series, Book of Templates and Dynasties and Demagogues, but the three above have seen the most use at my table, at least as a GM.

With Regards,
Flynn

Edit - Tome of Horrors (revised, Necromancer)...duh??!! This is the best monster book ever. Can't believe I forgot this one.

Top 3 is really a tough call, but I would have to say ...

Arcana Evolved
Iron Kingdoms Character Guide
Ptolus

and Game of Thrones

Yeah, I know that's 4.

Arcana Unearthed/Evolved
Complete Book of Eldritch Might (and all the other related books to that series; eh, pretty much every single thing Malhavoc did was head and shoulders above everyone else except perhaps Green Ronin)
The class books from Green Ronin, especially Witch and Unholy Warrior.
Some of the Dungeon Crawl Classics modules.
Pathfinder
City State of the Invincible Overlord

  1. Monsternomicon vol. I
  2. Monsternomicon vol. II
  3. Book of Fiends
Give me those, along with a basic ruleset framework (I prefer d20 Modern + d20 Past) and I can run forever.
