Best NonWOTC Campaign setting?

I like the Wilderlands. So far only the Player's Guide is out, but it's enough to play.

It integrates all core classes, prestige classes, and psionics classes.
It's standard 3.5, with a few nice rules.
It offers 4 new classes, a number of new races.

I would have to go with Iron Kingdoms from Privateer Press. The support product has been, well, to put it nicely, sparce, but the product that has been released is top notch. The major book (400 pages) will be on shelves shortly, or so I have heard.

I agree, the Iron Kingdoms is unique, and appears to be quite good. The book should be out probably begining of July (it's at the printers now). www.ironkingdoms.com (for fluff) as well www.privateerpress.com (go under previews) . I'm also a big fan of FR but you didn't want a WotC setting

Well of course I've got to pitch my own Next Age Heroes setting. It's an inexpensive pdf world that's designed to allow the player characters to grow into the most powerful heroes around. There's not any uber NPCs, very few have more than 8 total character levels. In fact, there's very few members of some classes, which makes the PCs start out as special. For example, the starting region has three paladins, less than twenty clerics, and roughly eighty human wizards (most level 3 or below).

Exploration and discovery of the world is the driving theme, and everything's designed to give ambitious, pro-active, players plenty to work with. There's also plenty of secrets to be discovered.

There's no changes from the PHB 3.5, all the races and classes are there. If you as DM allow it, the Aristocrat class is especially viable, as there's a well described human aristocracy.

In a nutshell what is the Eberron setting? what makes it different from all the other WOTC settings? (one of my soon to be players suggested I look into it.)

I am looking for some good ideas on a setting that Isn't Freeport or any Wizards of t the Coast product. I mention Freeport becuase we are already running thru that campaign under a different DM. So send me your suggestions for a grand world to call our home.

Greyhawk by TSR, Inc.

Known World by Tactical Studies Rules

or Harn from Columbiagames

Dawnforge, absolutely. It's a little different, but very smoothly put together and very adaptable. Very mythic high fantasy, big adventure sort of stuff.

For non-WOTC, I do really like Scarred Lands and Ravenloft. We have a very interesting campaign in Scarred Lands right now. Our next campaign will be in Eberron thou. Most of the players have been really impressed with the book. :) The Eberron campaign setting is very well thought out.
