Why, Tomb of Horrors, of course... that way, the ones moving won't have to lug those PC notes with them, and the rest of you can start a new game with new PCs... :)

Tomb of Horrors is that AD&D? Are there no good one shots for 3E or 3.5?

Dead Gods. It's the perfect adventure for a one-shot (and first level characters).

As much as dead gods is a good adventure don't you think its a little too long for 8-10 hours of gameplay.

But as it was asked what the adventure was let me describe it a little

Its a huge planescape module for second edition, where the players slowly find out about
and attempt to stop the return of orcus who had been killed by a drow goddess. As the module progesses several gods bite the dust due to the powerful last word orcus has uncovered

Elf> Tomb of Horrors is a notorious 1st edition module by EGG himself... it's notorious for being a PC killer, regardless of what level they are. It has a bunch of the absolute best death traps ever devised. I don't know if it's ever been revised for 3E... with all the new maneuvers and stuff in 3E, I don't honestly know if ToH would be the PC chopper it was in the previous editions....

I've found that RPGA modules generaly make great one shot adventures, infact that is what they are designed for.

Second choice would be to grab an issue of Dungeon, almost every issue has a nice one-shot-wonder.

'Scarlet Tide' or Lord of the Scarlet Tide or somesuch, in one of the issues of Dungeon would make a good one shot I think. Decent adventure for 10ish level characters as I recall. I don't have any of my Dungeon issues handy (it sucks having all your stuff packed and being shipped....) but somone on these boards shold know the issue number...
