Best Paladin in core-rule??

Thx for the info. It's a real cool char concept.
One more thing:

> (need ioun stone);

What do you need the ioun stone for?

+1 caster level ioun stone.

because 2pal/6sor/6ek caster level only 11, Polymorph become DEVA need caster level 12.

With just the core and no splat books, think the indoor paladin is possibly best. Mounted Combat focused halfling paladin - can ride the Riding Dog mount around pretty much anywhere a human could go. Indoor lance related cheese.

Not core, but:

I remember something along the lines of - Paladin 6(?): Cleric 2(?): Fist of Raziel 10.

With the Fist of Razial spell progression added to the cleric levels. Can't recall the exact balance of paladin to cleric, wasn't my character, but it was enough to qualify for fist whilst maximising the combat/spellcasting trade offs.

It's was really quite devastating, but the game had quite a few silly characters in it.

Don't forget Practised Spellcaster and Battle Blessing for Swift Divine Favor Goodness :D
C-O-R-E, find out what it means to me!

(There are much better Paladin Gish builds outside of Core, of course. For one thing, take Charging Smite variant; for another, get some Extra Smiting feats; third, 5 Abjurant Champion levels + 1 Spellsword level so you are less restricted in your spell list...) :)

Cheers, -- N

Aasmair Paladin 6/Divine Crusader 3/Fist of Raziel 10, domain is Spell ( FRCS), have limit wish, you can cast lots of spell.

Oh, please... Wish has an XP cost. Plus DC only has max. CL 10, which sucks when it comes to beating spell resistance and surviving Dispel Magic. If you want a spellcasting FoR, go Cleric10/FoR10.
