Best Paladin Mounts and uses thereof: Let's Break it Down

Re: AoW, generally its MUCH easier to get a medium sized mount inside dungeons and places than it is to try and take a medium sized one... Ever seen a horse try and fit thru a normal sized doorway? Just ain't going to happen.

Er, why not? Seems like a simple "squeeze" movement to get through a 5' opening. Or is this a conceptual thing?

Let me put it this way, if instead of "horse" you assume the mount would be a dire wolf, are there going to be the same problems?

Benefit: When you are mounted and use the charge action, you may move and attack as if with a standard charge and then move again (continuing the straight line of the charge). Your total movement for the round can’t exceed double your mounted speed. You and your mount do not provoke an attack of opportunity from the opponent that you attack.
Crap on a stick! You're right! I've been playing it as a mounted version of Spring Attack or Shot on the Run!

B can use ride by attack to charge A. The closest square he can attack from is x. He can then continue the straight line passed A. It makes it difficult, but not impossible.
Well, no. If you look at the PHB charge diagrams, you find that it's not so simple as to restrict you to perfect 8-direction square movement. By RAW, a charge must be STRAIGHT at the enemy, which precludes continuing in a straight line unless you can move through the guy's square. (So I guess someone who has had a run-in with a Rod of Wonder might still manage it...) IIRC, the FAQ is pretty clear on this, even going so far as to have a "Q: Doesn't that mean Ride-By Attack is impossible? --- A: Yes." entry. (I'd post a quote if the FAQ was searchable, but I'm not in the mood to look for one entry out of hundreds in something with no index. Blasted needle-in-a-stack-of-needles WotC organization principles!)

In my game I just let it function as a mounted version of Spring Attack (or you could do it like in your diagram if you wanted to charge), but the official word is that you can't use it.
