Um, did I ever. From the get-go I said it doesn't seem right to me.

Sheesh.... you must be catching that "read into other people's statements" bug that is going around the DS list...

It wasn't meant as an attack. To be sure not to get these responses from us tired ones just be sure to spell it out :D...

Oh yeah - and I'm evil so what do you expect.... :D

Just wanted to note that the perpetrator of this thread, Bronn Spellforger, plays a dwarf invoker in the campaign that I DM. He's still waiting to hit 5th level and gain those "nukes" that everyone loves. :)

Side note: Reading the past seven or so posts made me think of the whole rationale behind the dwarven +2 bonus vs. Spells--the fact that they are "non-magical" creatures, or to put it less bluntly, not prone to wizardry. So I guess we need a new rationale for the +2 bonus...something that doesn't tend to rule out the dwarf "spellforgers." Just high CON or racial "toughness" (not the Feat)?

Halfling Barbarians for that lovely Dark Sun savage feeling. They aren't evil, they just don't think there is anything wrong in hunting the other PC races for food. I mean, it's not like elves or human are, like, people!

They kick! :)

Just make it a +2 because they are more adept at defending themselves against magic due to their physical toughness and mental fortitude or something.

Dwarven spellcasters are good!

But where does it say that they have to have a toad familliar?

They don't HAVE to, but having a +4 to your CON score never hurts for a wizard. :)

Dawrven Wizards just have a personality all their own - and I personally one day want to play a wild-haired dwarven rune-wizard with high CON and INT but extremely low CHA and WIS that acts half-mad and casts fireballs at near-point-blank ranges, but knows all sorts of forbidden stuff. :D
