BFG's Mini-A-Week Paint Project - Updated Sept 28 - Three different Dirz Tigers!

OK ! Yea me, I finally got a digital camera with a macro feature, so I can start taking pictures of the mini's I'm working on.

I'll probably normally only post mini's once they are finished unless I need some input, but here is a WIP that just happened to be on my table as I was testing out the new camera ( Sony DSC-W7 ).

This (half-dragon) was bought from discount hobby - possibly from one of their demo model clearance sales.

His skin/wings are done, but I still need to add eyes, and color/highlights to the clothing/weapons. 75% done or so. Amzing how clearly you can see the flaws in your work when you see them 2 or 3x size!

PS - Thanks Pogre for all of your miniatures related sharing here at ENWorld in the past & future!

I like the detail on the shield edge. Very nice drybrush. also the "wing scales" are nicely done as well. How much highlighting are you planning on?

Thanks! Drybrushing mettalics over a dark base is a standard for me. I'll probably highlight the metals with some grey before done. Also the clothing and leathers will be highlighted. Those wings took a couple hours to get the individual sections highlighted while maintaining a dark seperation. Only a light wash over that. I'll post him and his buddy when done in the next week.

BFG - The wings really show the outstanding work you have put into them - they kick butt!

I'm digging this miniature a week theme too - I look forward to checking in!

Dragonman 1

For mini's with small bases ( Reaper Legends etc... ) I glue the mini to some washers (1" round in this case) and build around the base with some greenstuff. Looks better and won't fall over during use.

Lacking some inspiration for the shield ...

Hmm - my pictures come out better when taken during the day I think. I'll wait till the next day for future pics instead of shooting at night with an overhead lamp.

No kidding, when I saw the pics of my mini's I almost took them back down. I'm just glad I didnt post my favorite, he has lots of flaws I dont need magnification to see.

This week the figure is a Drow Cleric/Rogue from a defunct FR Campaign. Reaper Figure (Klocke is THE MAN, no? ) , with a slight conversion ( added the wavy dagger removed a strange double bladed thingy ).

This was my first dark skinned humanoid mini - I will probably need to add more layers of highlighting in the future...

Klocke is THE MAN. I like your color choices. I agree on coming up more on the highlights - something that could be said about most of my recent paint jobs too.

Nice work!
