D&D 5E BG3 is #2 on Steam Global Top Sellers list again, beating Starfield

I've been playing Starfield for several days straight, but I'll probably go back to BG3 shortly. Starfield is, basically, just another Skyrim or Fallout 4, but with effectively infinite maps of wilderness and copy/paste dungeons to get lost in if you want to.
I imagine Bethesda is assuming -- relying on, even -- modders to fill the vast empty spaces with content. Unfortunately we will have to wait until after all the new guns and nude skins are finished first...

I think you are right, it is a strong candidate for Game of the Year, it's probsvly between BG3 and Tears of the Kingdom, both of which are excellent and have gone straight up viral this year.

BG3 has the advantage of being on way more platforms. BG3 is on PS5, PC (Steam and GOG), later on Mac and X-Box.

Zelda is only on Nintendo, but the Nintendo fandom is huge.

I still give the edge to BG3.

Well, I was thinking specifically of the Game Awards, which aren't system constrained.

And yes, Tears of the Kingdom is exclusive to the biggest game platform, but Breath of the Wild won when it came out. I don't know if being a sequel to a prior Game of the Year hurts or helps, but both these games have a legacy behind them, which is interesting.

I believe there is the promise of eventual steam workshop support. I won’t muck around with mods till then haha

That would be cool. I'm going to do (after my work slows down a bit from the idiotic levels I'm at) some feats, and class/subclasses for myself.
