That's entirely fair. There are some very real and major issues in BG3, the inventory system being the most frustrating one for me personally. I knew what I was getting into with a background in DOS1 and DOS2 (heck, all the way back to DD but that was a different beast), but for a game like BG3 there's just no reason to not have quality of life things like one click stack selling, tabs for sorting types of items like weapons / armor / ingredients / consumables / etc, or just having the game remember what type of item you have flagged as Wares so that type is always Wares in the future. But here's something a lot of people don't talk about. There is MASSIVE imbalance in content from one Origin Character to another. Durge is certainly the golden child and I have no complaints there, but Astarion is missing almost all his major plot points if you pick him as an MC. That scene where Astarion bites you? You don't get to bite ANYONE if you pick Astarion as your MC. You never get to make anyone your spawn if you ascend, you never see the nuance of his scenes drinking the blood of the alchemist in the tower, and the majority of Cazador's entire plot is cut. You give up a literally award winning performance by Neil Newbon in exchange for... almost nothing. Lae'zel makes a great MC as long as you've never played a Gith before. She does have some unique and interesting moments, but a lot of her playthrough charm comes from experiencing the Gith specific dialog for the first time. It makes her go from a great MC choice if you've never played either, to a very lackluster choice if you've played Gith before. Wyll is the opposite. He's a startlingly good MC with several fascinating interactions with Mizora that you will never see unless you pick him as an MC. And so on.
