Bicycles in YOUR campaign setting!

Could bicycle exist in your D&D setting(s)?

Do you have them, or think they could exist without causing problems? Or would it upset your vision of fantasy and ruin the game forever?

*laugh* There's one I'd never considered before! I like the mental image of people riding bikes all over Sharn. :)

If complicated mechanical traps exist, it's not a far cry to the mechanical aptitude necessary for bicycles. Wouldn't break my brain.

No, I've never used them. But could the campaigns I play in withstand their introduction? Of course they could! :) The one thing I might do is change the name to help discard the baggage associated with them for players who get distracted by the notion. Perhaps I might called them wheeled horses, or town-horses (since they're best on paved surfaces). It might cause some comment at first, but by comparison with other things I have included (magical concrete, moving roads, flying ships, etc) it's pretty mild. :)

Never used them. Actually, never even thought about it honestly...and wouldn't. Doesnt feel fantasy at all to me (each to their own however).

I can see it now...BMX Knights, charging into combat...

I'm not sure that I could do this with a straight face, but I won't write it off as beyond the realm of possibility.

A bicycle in Sharn, Ptolus, maybe, but a bike in Waterdeep? Fuhgeddaboudit.

Next you'd expect us to believe unicycles, or mimes. *shudder* Or Gnomish mime unicyclists.

Sorry. There is sufficient amount of absurdity in the game as it is.

All I need to hear is about some Half-Thri-keen dorw ani-paladin on his Shimano gear Trek rock hopper!!!

I might have someone ride a penny-farthing bike (the kind with the big front wheel), but it would be the guy who invented it...

Yeah, I was gonna say I could imagine a velocipede being invented by gnomes. :)

I chose the second option, btw.
