"Big Fish" Thoughts (long)

I enjoyed Big Fish. It reminded me of my own father. My father loved to tell his stories and as I reached my teenage years, I would get impatient when I wanted to go out with my friends.

The stories that the father told in the movie were based on some sort of truth. Most of them anyways. They weren't completely lies.

I miss my father. I would love to hear one of stories. Rest in peace.

Peace and smiles :)

However, I was never able to entirely get over what was arguably the message of the movie – that Edward’s tall-tales where more important than the truth because they were more entertaining.

Hm. That's not the message that got to me at all. To me, the movie says that the message the father has to deliver is more important than how accurate he is in recounting history, that content should be considered over veracity.

Umbran's certainly closer to the essence.

I also thought it was of accepting someone who is different from you, and respecting their strengths instead of concentrating on the weaknesses of their way of living.
