Biomancer base class?

Tinker Gnome

Adventurer
Hey, has anyone made a Biomancer base class of any sort? I think I remember a forum member saying that he had a BBEG that was one. So, has anyone made a class that deals a lot with life and stuff like that?

And dont be a smart aleck and give me the whole thing about the "mancy" ending. I know what it really means, but that ending has been misused so many times by now that the point is sort of moot. :)

In my setting, biomancy is the creation of creatures and the alteration of creatures through magic. The effects are typically permanent. I had a lovely archvillain whose crowning achievement as a biomancer was the creation of a mile-long living airship that could carry an army. I assumed he had spent decades creating this thing, working in seclusion.

As for rules of biomancy, the best I can offer is that, in the Elements of Magic Revised Edition, there are rules for effectively creating permanent 'summon monster' spells to represent the creation of creatures. And in the next book for those rules, Lyceian Arcana, there's going to be a feat that lets you make spells permanent without paying XP, with the drawback that they can be somewhat easily dispelled. My archvillain just layered the spells so that a single dispel wouldn't have done more than take out a small part of the airship.
