Black Company CS discussion

Action Points didn't gibe eh? I can understand it. They do allow actions that seem out of touch with some of the Black Company but there are those members, the Captain, Croaker, Raven, etc... who constintly surprise us. I imagine that the PCs should be able to do that to no? It's almost like the Forgotten Realms problem where the PC's aren't as powerful as the fiction and really can't be due to the game engine.

If Action Points are what I think that they are (still waiting on my copy of Black Company), then here is an example of Action Points in use from the books.....

In the books, we are given to believe that it requires a wizard in order to operate a carpet, and nothing is ever stated to oppose that belief, with one exception...

At the end of the second book, when the Black Company is on a ship, leaving he city (as Lady and the Taken battle the Dominator's castle), the Captain steals a carpet. He cannot control it well at all, but he does manage to control it long enough to get away from the major battle happening before he can be questioned by the Lady....
