[Ruined]

Just finished the first book of the series last night. A good, quick read. I won't say I was blown away, but I enjoyed it. And it wasn't a chore to plow through the book like some I've read in the past year. I would have loved to see more of the various Taken that didn't make it through the book, but I'm sure I'll get to see plenty more interesting things as the series goes. One of my friends is bringing me Shadows Linger and the White Rose today.

Part of what I really like about the series (and I have re-read the tattered first three books at least 20 times) is that he DOESN'T spell everything out in exhausting detail. Trying to imagine what Bonegnasher or the Hanged Man or the Howler were capable of is half the fun...makes my mind work instead of having it all spoon-fed to me.
