From the archives of the BlackHammer Project comes the new state of the art in projectile weapon systems.

Part 2 of the BlackHammer Firearms series presents four major models of conventional firearms seen across the globe in the early 21st Century. These weapons, with full d20 stats, are the cutting edge of their era, and exist on the cusp of progress levels 5 and 6. Each firearm is fully detailed with history and design notes and is suitable for games set from 5 minutes into the future at the end of Progress Level 5 to games set in the heart of Progress Level 6 and beyond.

This volume details four distinct series of firearms, along with the new ammunition types that some of them are chambered in.

The AMT 1159 handguns are heavy-bore handguns chambered in the Benelli 11.5mm caseless round designed for heavy subguns. These big boys are on par with the Desert Eagles, but are made in America by Arcadia Machine & Tool. 2 Models of this firearm are detailed in this document.

The C&S Elites are a series of duty handguns initially chambered in 10mm ACP, but now available in a variety of chamberings, including the venerabl .45 ACP, .40 S&W, .41 AE and .357 SIG as well as the newest models chambered in Heckler & Koch's new 6.5mm SO-2. The Elite is available in two basic configurations (long and compact) as well as the Model 16 machine pistols (pictured above). 20 models and variants of this firearm are detailed in this document.

The C&S Model 6 served as the Canadian Armed Forces assault rifle for nearly 25 years before being replaced recently by the Mark XII weapon system. With all these Model 6 units now leaving service, they have become available for private security forces, foreign militaries and even some civilian sales. 11 models and variants of this weapon system are included in this document.

The Ingram Model 99 is the newest submachine gun design from Ingram, and is chambered in the ultra-heavy Benelli 11.5mm caseless round. These subguns are seeing use in private security forces world-wide, and are now being considered for the African Union naval trials. 6 Models of this series are included in this document.

This thirteen-page PDF (plus cover and OGL) describes the technology and design of these weapon systems as well as where they are used and by whom. Each gun and variant has full d20 stats useable in any modern or future d20 game.

Blackhammer 2

Sometimes I want to rename the books I am reviewing to better fit the content. This one would be called Return of Black Hammer: More Guns. Like its predecessor this book gives the reader a good amount of weapons for a near future game. They fit well in a cyber punk game as well as anything on the cusp of Progressive Levels 5 and 6 as defined in the d20 Future book.

This book is a good follow up to the first one. It is again written by M Jason Parent. EN Publishing as everyone should know by now is a leader in the PDF industry. The PDF is longer then the first coming it at around a dozen pages and has the same basic layout and look. The art of the weapons is nicely done, but the layout leaves something to be desired as there are two pages that hare just half blank. Other then that the book looks good. Like the first one it is book marked and has some gray borders that will eat a bit of ink when printed.

The book has a lot of different guns presented in it. I count about forty new weapons and three new types of ammo. The weapons are nicely described and fill out a good variety of arms from pistols to assault rifles. They are all fully stated out with a few new rules on how they interact with some of the burst rules from d20 Modern for instance.

The book makes a good addition to the weapons found in the d20 Modern and Future books. The level of detail is much greater making them a bit more interesting to use as they become more then basic weapon stat blocks.

This one I did find to be better then the first but still missing a little something. It is an enjoyable read but really did not make be excited to use anything in here although in a modern game I probably will.
