Dog Moon

I was talking about making a buff stirge because my party is levels 5-6 and stirges are CR 1/2. I didn't want one hundred stirges to make it a challenge, so it thought I'd template it. My friend joked that I should make a buff stirge and call it BlackStirge. I mean no disrespect since Blackdirge's creatures are awsome, but I thought it would be fun. So here's what I came up with: a CR 8 stirge.
Fiendish Multiheaded (Pyro) Half-Troll Monster of Legend Stirge (CR: 8)
Tiny Magical Beast [fire]
Hit Dice: 3d10+30
HP: 53
Init: +8
Speed: 10 ft, fly 40 ft (average)
AC: 27 (+2 size, +5 dex, +10 nat), touch 17, flat-footed 22
BA/Grapple: +3/-2
Attack: Touch +13 (attach) or Claw (x2)+9 each: 1d2+4
Face/Reach: 2-1/2 ft/0 ft
SA: Attach, Blood Drain, Cold Breathing, Smite Good 1/day (+3 damage), Raging Blood (fire)
SQ: Darkvision 90 ft., cold and fire resistance 5, SR 8, fast heal 5, scent, Reflective Hide, Haste
Fort: +14
Ref: +13
Will: +5
Str 19, Dex 27, Con 28, Int 3, Wis 14, Cha 8
Skills: Hide +20, Listen +7, Search -2, Spot +7
Feats: Alertness, Weapon Finesse (Bonus), Improved Toughness
Haste(Su): The creature is supernaturally quick. It can take an extra partial action each round, as if affected by a haste spell.
Pyro Creatures
These reddish creatures can breath jets of fire 10 feet high, 10 feet wide, and 20 feet long. All heads breathe once every 1d4 rounds, and each jet deals 3d6 points of fire damage per head. A successful Reflex save (DC 10 + 1/2 creature's number of heads + creature's Con modifier) halves the damage. The creature also gains the fire subtype.
Raging Blood(Su): Choose whether the monster of legend has acid, fire, or electricity in its blood. Each time damage is dealt to the creature with a piercing or slashing attack, its blood sprays outward in a 5-foot cone, dealing 1d4 points of damage of the selected energy type to all within range (no saving throw). A monster of legend is not harmed by its own blood.
Reflective Hide(Su): The creature has a silvery sheen to its skin and is permanently protected by a spell turning effect.
Smite Good (Su): Once per day the creature can make a normal attack to deal additional damage equal to its HD total (maximum of +20) against a good foe.
"Blackstirge was once a normal little stirge. It lived a normal life for a stirge. It flew around with its posse of stirges and drank peoples' blood. Blackstirge's life did not end normally for a stirge however. One day, it and the posse were flying about when they encountered a man, though to the stirges, it was merely a vehicle for blood. So, naturally, the posse flew at the man. This man was a powerful wizard who normally did not think much about stirges. He batted them away like they were nothing. Before he killed them all, he decided that he would make a as buff a stirge as he could. So he captured one of the stirges, coincidentally BlackStirge, and brought the little creature to his lab.
"Oh the expiraments he did and the spells he cast. He managed to make the stirge a little stronger, but the blood of the stirge limited the growth process. To try to bypass that problem, he began dabbling with various creatures, trying to replace the stirge's blood with the blood of other creatures. He was only partially successful in his attempts to make a powerful stirge.
"On day Blackstirge escaped the wizard by flying out of an open window of the lab. He escaped the Wizard and tried to return to his home, but he found that there were no stirges left in their lair. His posse was gone. Blackstirge had nothing to do and nowhere to go. He flew around, searching for his destiny. Lo and behold, his destiny had already been found and the God of Stirges (there's a God of Stirges?) appeared before Blackstirge. Blackstirge stared in awe at the God of Stirges. This God told him that he needed to avenge his people by killing the wizard. The God gave Blackstirge some powers and sent him on his quest.
"Feeling quite sure of himself, he returned to the Wizard's home, but when Blackstirge arrived, he found the Wizard gone. Ha ha! Blackstirge laughed to himself. The Wizard was afraid of him. Unfortunately, Blackstirge didn't know where to look for the Wizard. Still, he had a quest to do..."

Note: Perhaps this story is true, perhaps not. It is, after all, a stirge and who knows what stirges can think (since they aren't generally intelligent). I do know, however, that if you encounter what appears to be a normal stirge, but is black, has two heads and a mean glint in all four eyes, that you should quickly leave because that stirge has a quest and it will kill anyone who gets in its way.
