Level Up (A5E) Bladechanter prereqs

Bladechanter feat has the two-weapon fighting style (apart from the e levels of wizard and fighter) prerequisite. My question is: is the fighting style prerequisite a fluff thing, or setting dependant or is it crucial for balance? I ask because a player of mine wants to do a dueling bladechanter and I'm worried if I let him take the feat I might be into surprises balance wise.

i think it's mainly because the feat lets you use 2 weapons (one held in each hand) as a spellcasting focus. i don't think it'd break anything if you let it be a different fighting style, but it does change the vibe a bit.
