Bladesinger with War Magic

Would changing the extra attack feature with the 7th lvl War Magic ability from EK break the Bladesinger?

I'd do it too. It's definitely more of a buff, and might encourage them to actually mix it up in melee.

I don't think it would break it and I think that it fits them better than the extra attack ability since they blend magic and sword craft. I think that the main reason they got two attacks was because when a class moves to a more martial bent (like the valour bard) they gain an extra attack.

Edit. Just thought I would note that I'm intending to make that change if a player ever decides to play a bladesinger.

Thanks for the answers guys. The swap is definitely a boost and increases their dpr a lot at lower levels especially if you count the fact that they also get Haste by level five. I am currently on the fence about this.

Compare their capability to an EK and see what it looks like. I found attack+cantrip to be more beneficial than 2 and 3 attacks once the green flame blade spell was added when you were dealing with two enemies.
