Is it fair to blame the system for player/GM decisions?

There are some reasonable expectations and allowences for a system. Ultimately, though, the system should support the players, otherwise you should go shopping for a new system.

That's good in theory but there are just too many gamers that refuse to play anything or try anything but their one true game, whatever that may be.

Grrrrr... Fine.

EDIT: Actually, scratch that. Sign me up for a 3-day ban please.
Actually, it's going to be at least that for directly contravening moderator instructions - and I'm deleting the post in question. Seriously, it's really not worth it.

Fusangite, drop me an email, if you would; I'm not sure that your EN World account has the correct email for you. Thanks!

While this is true, it's somewhat external to the issue. What I feel you should do and what player stubborness and your pull with the group allow you to do are two entirely different things. :)

Then you gotta leave those players behind. It's not worth investing your time otherwise, and gaming asks for a pretty big investment.

Nitpick: in 3.0 as written you *did* get ExP just for showing up - if the party defeats a challenge then all party members get equal ExP even if not all party members were involved in defeating said challenge, all in the name of keeping the PC's at the same level. Stupid, stupid rule that I'm not sure if 3.5 fixed.

Better than it use to be, you only got XP in 2nd ed if you damaged the monster. Didnt work well at all. I'll take this in 3.0 rather than 2nd any day.

If you have to bring up Nazis, you've already lost.

Fusangite, Dethstryke, time to remind you (and everyone else) to stay on topic and away from politics. Please don't continue this hijack/argument.

If this is somehow a problem, feel free to email me.

*nod* My interest in discourse is not important enough to press the rules of ENWorld. I appreciate your tact in your warning as well. During my time as a member to this board, since it was Eric Noah's 3E board actually, I've come to really respect PirateCat for a number of reasons. In addition to that, I am fully aware of the extra work and effort that being a moderator on a large message board entails. For all of these reasons, I sincerely apologize for the transgression. I hope that this would not dissuade you from engaging me in future threads.

I had considered sending this in private, but I think a public address would be more fitting and no less truthful.
