Blandest d20 Product?

Ignoring the real trolls, of course. Negative WotC reviews had a history of getting bashed here (a while ago, at least).

and some of the reviews were just plain removed. i know the ones i did were.

It's funny; when I wrote my review of the ELH here for the site, saying essentially that it was incredibly bland, uninspiring and poorly done (with the exception of the monster chapter) I had people all over my case saying I was a troll, and my review should be pulled.

I guess that opinion's stood the test of time based on the responses here. Where were all you folks then, I wonder? ;)
Well, it has stood the test of time in a thread about people mentioning books they don't like, I suppose. Bland it is, but poorly done? I didn't agree then, and I don't agree now. I didn't call you a troll then, and I'm not doing it now. But your opinion is hardly universal on the topic. Heck, it's hardly universal in this thread.

I should add d20 modern to the list. It's so bland, I forgot it entirely.

It's a three-way tie between the Hero Builder's Guidebook, the Planar Handbook and the Player's Guide to Faerun.

The Player's Guide to Faerun should have been called, "Errata with Pictures". Bland, bland, bland. The only way it could be more bland is if the cover was made from brown, paper grocery bags.

The PGTF had info on Faerûn's planes and detailed the metaplot for those who don't read novels. So, it's not all that bland.

Catalog-like books like Book of Challenge or Arms & Equipment Guide tend to be very, very bland. Not a fatality, but a common pitfall. The Hero Builder's Guide is, indeed, bland and useless for most everyone.

The divine and epic rulebooks are all except divine and epic, too. I bought D&Dg just for the pictures, and I wasn't interested at all in the ELH.

I find FR's "new" planes to be much more bland than the Great Wheel. And I find FR's new metaplot to be bland as well. So I'm with Bran, here.

It is all that bland.
