I have a player that would like to become a Bloodhound, but I am having trouble coming up with a quest for him. I can build the hack & slash type adventures, but this requires more stealth/ability to throw the person off the lead by throwing around misleading clues, etc. I was thinking of expanding off of "Thirds of Purloined Letter" in Dungeon 88 where the "final battle" in that adventure leads him off to Westgate to final his prey, who just so happens to be a local noble who enjoys spending his leisure time being a bloodhound. When the noble plays at being a bloodhound, he disguises himself, so the locals don't realize that he is the bloodhound.
Thus, the dilemna> how do I mislead my player but still give him enough clues to solve the mystery?
