In case you haven't heard -- and I don't think it's been formally announced yet, but the site is up -- Indie Press Revolution is just like it sounds: A collection of high-quality indie press publishers banding together to take on the big guys. The website is just up, i.e., as of today I think, so it will be fleshed out in the days to come, but I'm excited about the prospect of teaming up with publishers like Brennan Taylor and Ed Cha to spread the gospel about indie press. Join the Revolution!

Oh, yeah! Time for a press release then, eh? :)

Actually, I don't think we're going to announce the site's official launch until we've got the full roster of products up there. It's going to be really great having all these top-notch quality stuff available directly to the consumer. We'll have at least a few ENnie-nominated products on the site as well as the winner of the biggest indie game award this year. Stay tuned!

Do I need both books or will it re-present OGC?
I can't answer this question until the d20 Future material is officially released to the SRD. If it's released in a fashion that permits us to reprint enough that havng d20 Future won't be necessary, then that's what we'll do. And frankly, that's what I'm expecting. However, it is possible that they will release only selected portions requiring us to reference people to the d20 Future book. Short answer: Our goal is to permit Dawning Star to be run using only the DS book and d20 Modern.

Time for a press release then, eh?
I can't keep secrets, Ed. Just ask my wife.

Hey, I'm glad you're excited about the new project. :) I'm slowing getting the word out about the site, but we should have an official launch sometime later this month when we get the initial roster up and all the stock in.

I know you're also curious about distribution, etc. We plan to work with distributors, too, but our focus is on direct sales, especially for the initial period. It's important to maximize profits for the small publisher. The business model for the large publisher does not work for the small publisher (and it doesn't even often work for the large publisher either). This is a micro-business. If it's not treated like one, then you're in for trouble.

Just wanted to point out that the newest issue of D20 Filtered has an exclusive sneak peak at one of the player races of the upcoming Dawning Star campaign by Blue Devil Games.

Check it out!
