You know, this book was supposed to come out in August 2004. I have almost lost patience on this one. This is the first serious black mark from Green Ronin and it really shows a lack of faith in the book.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.......

books get delayed, everyone knows this....

6-8 months in a long time for a delay. Not to mention that other projects now take "priority." If you cannot get something down on time, then at least give a real estimate of when it will be complete.

I may not like everything that Wizards does, but the books come out on time. I am not asking anyone to jump through hoops, just a little more truth in the release dates.

well, I don't think it was actually supposed to come oput till November. Least when I talked to Green Ronin about this at Origins and Gen Con that was the month given. So, it is more like a 2-3 month delay. Green Ronins been around what 5 years? THis is the first major delayed book by them I know of. That's pretty good. Books coming out on time is a small thing, I'm more concerned about the quality of the books.

Fans of this one seem to think a PDF version somehow disrespects the genre. They irrationally ignore the impending release of the print version, they cry foul with phrases similar to those used by jilted lovers, they throw tantrums -- including the favorite internet pasttime "I will never buy a single product from Green Ronin!" -- and they seem to think it is all justified.

Maybe it's the kind of players attracted to this kind of game. ;)

no, it is not just the fans of this gamer. Its internet fans. They complain about things they don't understand, they spout off like they know things when they clearly don't, and if it wasn't so funny to read it would be wasted space.

If we didn't have faith in the product, we would have cancelled it a year ago. We did not. It did, however, take longer than we expected to make it into the game we wanted. I'm sorry people had to wait but I'm not sorry we took extra time. There's a saying the computer game industry that's equally applicable to RPGs: "A late game is only late until it comes out, but a bad game is bad forever."

We released the PDF first because it's part of a new strategy we are experimenting with this year (PDF first, followed by print edition). Malhavoc has been doing this for years and it doesn't seem to have hurt their print sales. Folks who don't want a PDF will be able to get a print version in about a month. Whatever way you want the game, you can have it. I fail to see how this is a black mark.
