probably ok, if you have a BAB requirement as well, since that is better than most of the low level maneuvers
Generic defense boost

Prereq: 1 Desert Wind/Setting Sun/Shadow Hand maneuver known

As a swift action, spend a readied maneuver to gain 50% concealment miss chance for 1 round.
this is like a 2nd level maneuver usable once per encounter, but better. so too good.

Generic defense counter

Prereq: 1 Desert Wind/Setting Sun/Shadow Hand maneuver known

As an immediate action, spend a readied maneuver to gain +(IL/2) AC against one attack.
better than a 3rd level spell, and you can use it all day. broken.

Generic saving throw counter

Prereq: 1 Devoted Spirit/Diamond Mind maneuver known

As an immediate action, spend a readied maneuver to gain +(IL/2) to your next saving throw.
half as good as an 8th level maneuver, but usable multiple times per encounter, all day long. broken.

Generic damage reduction counter

Prereq: 1 Devoted Spirit/Stone Dragon maneuver known

As an immediate action, spend a readied maneuver to gain DR (IL x 4)/- against one attack.
DR is too high. DR 80/- for one attack at 20th? at once per round, all day, good luck finding anything that can hurt you.

Generic spell resistance counter

Prereq: 1 Devoted Spirit/Diamond Mind maneuver known

As an immediate action, spend a readied maneuver to gain SR 10 + IL against one spell/SLA.
too good

Generic tactical boost

Prereq: 1 Shadow Hand/Tiger Claw/White Raven maneuver known

As a swift action, spend a readied maneuver to move up to half your normal speed.
there are already enough movement boosts.

I don't like 'em.

First, the cool factor. Maneuvers are cool because they are each different, in opposition to the boring routine of "I hit it with my stick".

Second, the flexibility factor. A PC could prep all Counters, then use the ones he didn't need offensively. That breaks the action-payment scheme implicit in Adaptive Style, for the same price as Adaptive Style.

Third, the repetition factor. Martial adepts shouldn't generally benefit by doing the same thing two rounds in a row. It's too easy to get lazy, and then you get boring behavior -- particularly if that behavior is also optimal. I'm not saying these are necessarily optimal, but why risk it? Lazy + boring = lose.

How about this?

Action Adept
Benefit: By spending an Action Point, you may expend a readied Strike, Counter or Boost to initiate any other Strike, Counter or Boost of the same level or lower from the same school. You do not need to know the Maneuver you initiate.
